About Event

Weekday Theatre & Acting Workshop in Bangalore – Yours Truly Theatre
About the Event

Ever wondered what it feels like to truly express yourself without hesitation?

Yours Truly Theatre is back with its next Weekday Theatre & Acting Workshop, a six-day immersive experience designed to help participants explore self-expression, creativity and performance in a supportive theatre environment.

Taking place from 21st to 26th September 2026, Monday to Saturday, the workshop runs from 11 AM to 3 PM at Yours Truly Theatre, Indiranagar.

This workshop is designed to help participants break inhibitions, overcome stage fright and reconnect with their creative selves. Through movement, improvisation and play, participants will explore what it means to be present, expressive and open.

Across six days, the workshop creates space to experiment, collaborate and discover different ways of communicating through theatre. The focus is not only on performance, but also on having fun with art and becoming more comfortable with your own expression.

Come as you are. Leave a little more expressive, a little freer.

The workshop concludes with an informal performance, giving participants an opportunity to bring their learning and experiences together.

Weekday Theatre and Acting Workshop

Theatre provides a unique way to explore communication, movement, imagination and confidence. This workshop is structured around practical activities that encourage participants to step outside their usual comfort zones and engage with creative exercises.

Through a combination of theatre games, movement, improvisation and collaborative activities, participants can explore different aspects of performance while developing greater awareness of their body, voice and presence.

The workshop is intended for people who are curious about theatre as well as those who simply want to try something new during the week.

No specific professional background in theatre is mentioned as a requirement, and the workshop is open to everyone.

What You Will Explore Over Six Days

The six-day workshop covers several areas of theatre and creative expression.

Self-Expression and Body Language

Participants will explore different ways of communicating through self-expression and body language. The exercises encourage awareness of physical presence and how movement can influence communication.

Theatre is not limited to spoken dialogue, and body language can play an important role in expressing thoughts, emotions and character.

Rhythm, Patterns and Movement

Movement-based exercises will introduce participants to rhythm, patterns and movement, creating opportunities to understand how physical actions can be structured and combined.

These activities are intended to encourage participants to become more comfortable with movement and physical expression.

Improvisation and Character Work

A key part of the workshop is improvisation and character work.

Improvisation allows participants to respond spontaneously, explore ideas and develop scenes through interaction. Character work adds another dimension by encouraging participants to experiment with different personalities, behaviours and performance choices.

Collaboration and Team Dynamics

Theatre is often a collaborative process, and the workshop includes activities focused on collaboration and team dynamics.

Participants will work with others, learn to respond to one another and explore how group interaction can shape creative work.

These exercises can help participants experience the importance of listening, participation and collective creativity within a theatre setting.

Theatre-Based Presentations

The workshop also includes theatre-based presentations, giving participants opportunities to bring together the ideas and skills explored during the sessions.

These presentations form part of the practical nature of the workshop and contribute towards the concluding informal performance.

Overcoming Inhibitions and Stage Fright

One of the central aims of the workshop is to help participants break inhibitions and overcome stage fright.

Stepping onto a stage or participating in a theatre exercise can feel unfamiliar at first. Through movement, improvisation and play, the workshop creates opportunities to gradually become more comfortable with being seen, heard and expressive.

The focus is on exploration rather than perfection. Participants are encouraged to engage with the exercises, experiment with different forms of expression and reconnect with their creative side.

Reconnect With Your Creative Self

Creativity is not limited to professional artists or performers. The workshop is designed for people from a wide range of backgrounds who want to explore something different.

The programme invites participants to put aside the pressure of everyday routines and spend six days engaging with movement, imagination, performance and play.

At its core, the experience encourages participants to rediscover the enjoyment of creating, experimenting and expressing themselves through theatre.

Who Can Join?

The workshop is open to everyone, including:

Working professionals
Students
Parents
Freelancers
Entrepreneurs
Retirees
Artists
Anyone with a flexible schedule

The organisers have also specifically stated that outstation participants are welcome to join the workshop.

This makes the programme suitable for anyone who has been curious about theatre, wants to explore acting or simply wants to spend a few days trying something new.

A Workshop for Theatre Beginners and Curious Minds

You do not need to wait for the perfect moment to explore theatre.

The workshop provides a structured environment in which participants can engage with theatre exercises and creative activities over six days. For someone who has always been curious about acting but never taken part in a workshop, this can be an opportunity to experience the process directly.

For people who already enjoy creative activities, the workshop offers another way to explore movement, improvisation, character and collaboration.

The central invitation is simple: come as you are and be willing to explore.

Six Days of Creative Exploration

The workshop runs from 21st to 26th September 2026, from 11 AM to 3 PM, giving participants a consistent weekday schedule across six consecutive days.

The programme progresses through different forms of theatre-based exploration, including self-expression, movement, improvisation, character work and group collaboration.

By the end of the six days, participants will have worked through a variety of exercises and presentations before coming together for an informal performance.

Informal Performance at the End

The workshop concludes with an informal performance, providing a natural ending to the six-day experience.

Rather than keeping the workshop limited to individual exercises, this concluding presentation gives participants a chance to bring elements of their work together in a performance setting.

It is an opportunity to experience what the group has explored throughout the workshop and to celebrate the creative process.
