The "Sitar Ramarao Utsav" through the "Shubhendra and Saskia Rao Foundation" is a tribute to the legendary Pandit N.R.Rama Rao from Karnataka. It will start with disciples of Sitar Ramarao forming an ensemble and paying a tribute to their Guru through a composition of Pandit Shubhendra Rao. This will be followed by a Maestro Saskia Rao-de Haas on her Indian Cello with the young star Ishaan Ghosh on the Tabla. The evening will conclude with the legendary singer, Vidushi Shubha Mudgal with Dr Aneesh Pradhan on Tabla and Pt. Sudhir Nayak on Harmonium.
Sitar Rama Rao dedicated his life selflessly to the promotion of the sitar whose life is an inspiration and needs to be celebrated and whose contribution to the cultural fibre of Karnataka should be duly acknowledged. It is with this thought that Sitar Ramarao's family and disciples from across the globe have come together to celebrate his life and the everlasting values he stood for.
