Learn Traditional Gujarati Garba
Traditional Gujarati Garba is known for its energetic movements, rhythmic steps and circular group formations. It is closely associated with the festive spirit of Navratri and creates an atmosphere where people come together through music and dance.
At this workshop, Pooja Shah will guide participants through traditional Gujarati Garba movements and group patterns. The session is suitable for beginners, making it an approachable way to discover Garba and understand its basic rhythm and movement vocabulary.
Participants can learn at their own pace while joining others in a shared celebration of Navratri.
Rhythmic Footwork and Graceful Spins
Footwork plays an important role in Garba. The workshop provides participants with an opportunity to explore rhythmic steps while developing coordination and movement.
Along with footwork, graceful spins add another distinctive element to the dance. Participants will be introduced to these movements in a way that allows beginners and experienced dancers alike to participate.
As the session progresses, individual movements can come together to create group patterns, bringing the collective energy of Garba to life.
Celebrate the Spirit of Navratri
Navratri is a time of celebration, music, devotion, movement and community. The Ras Garba Workshop brings this festive spirit into an engaging dance experience.
Instead of simply watching Garba, participants become part of the celebration. The combination of traditional movements, rhythmic music and group dancing creates an interactive experience that celebrates the cultural spirit associated with Navratri.
