Get ready for an evening of spontaneous storytelling, comedy, audience participation, and unscripted theatre with Maestro Impro™, a competitive elimination-style improv format that puts twelve brave improvisers head-to-head in a battle of creativity and quick thinking.

During the show, the improvisers will take on a range of scenes, games, and challenges inspired by the audience, creating stories that have never been seen or heard before. Because the performances are improvised live, every scene develops in the moment, making each round a unique experience.

At the end of every round, the audience gets to vote improvisers out. The competition continues until only one performer remains.

That final improviser earns the improv glory and is crowned the Maestro for the month.

About Maestro Impro™

Maestro Impro™ is a competitive improv format built around spontaneity, creativity, audience participation, and elimination-style gameplay.

The show begins with twelve improvisers ready to take on whatever challenges come their way. Rather than performing a predetermined script, they create scenes and stories in real time.

The audience plays an important role throughout the competition. Their votes determine which improvisers continue and which performers leave the competition after each round.

This structure creates a constantly changing show where no two performances need to unfold in exactly the same way.

Twelve Improvisers. One Maestro.

The competition brings twelve improvisers together on stage.

Each performer must respond to scenes, games, and challenges while thinking quickly and building stories spontaneously.

Every round creates new opportunities for the improvisers to demonstrate their ability to collaborate, adapt, create characters, develop situations, and respond to unexpected prompts.

As the competition progresses, the number of improvisers decreases until only one remains.

That performer is crowned the Maestro for the month.

Audience-Powered Improv

One of the most important aspects of Maestro Impro™ is the involvement of the audience.

Audience members are not simply spectators watching a scripted performance. They contribute to the evening through challenges and voting.

The performers respond to audience-driven prompts and situations, creating completely spontaneous scenes.

After each round, the audience also gets to vote on which improvisers should be eliminated.

This creates a shared experience where the audience directly contributes to the direction of the competition.

Never-Before-Seen Stories

Because the performances are improvised, the stories are created in the moment.

The improvisers do not rely on a fixed script for the scenes they perform. Instead, they build characters, situations, dialogue, and narratives as the show unfolds.

How the Elimination Works

Maestro Impro™ follows a competitive elimination structure.

The basic format is:

Round One

Twelve improvisers take the stage and participate in improvised scenes, games, and challenges.

Audience Voting

At the end of each round, the audience votes to eliminate improvisers from the competition.

Continuing the Competition

The remaining improvisers continue facing new challenges and creating fresh scenes.

Final Performer

The process continues until only one improviser remains.

Maestro of the Month

The final remaining performer is crowned the Maestro for the month.

What Makes Improv Different?

Unlike a conventional scripted theatre performance, improvisation depends on performers responding to situations as they happen.

Improvisers need to listen carefully, react to their scene partners, accept new ideas, and develop a story without knowing exactly what will happen next.

Meet Improv Lore

Improv Lore is a Bangalore-based community-theatre troupe working towards spreading the art of spontaneous storytelling and unscripted stagecraft.

The troupe focuses on encouraging people to explore the joy and creativity that can come from improvisation and playful performance.

Their work also aims to rekindle the joy of being playful and whimsical, bringing a sense of curiosity and spontaneity to theatre.

Community, Jams and Workshops

Improv Lore's activities extend beyond Maestro Impro™.

The community meets on Wednesdays for Jams, providing opportunities for people to practise and explore improvisation in a less competitive setting.

They also conduct workshops on weekends, helping participants engage with spontaneous storytelling and unscripted stagecraft.

Who Can Attend?

Entry is allowed for ages 16 and above.

Tickets are also required for attendees aged 16 and above.

The event is therefore intended for an audience of teenagers and adults who meet the stated age requirement.

Venue Experience

The event takes place in an indoor venue with air conditioning.

Seating is open and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guests are advised to arrive early if they wish to secure their preferred seating arrangement.

Gates Open 10 Minutes Before the Show

The gates open 10 minutes before the scheduled show time.

Guests should plan their arrival accordingly and allow sufficient time for entry procedures and seating.

Late arrivals may be subject to the organizers' entry policy.

Photography and Recording

Photography and recording are allowed at the event.

Guests may capture moments from the performance, subject to any venue-specific instructions that may apply.

Prohibited and Hazardous Items

Dangerous or potentially hazardous objects are not permitted inside the venue.

Such items may be removed from the venue and may be ejected with or without their owner, as specified in the event terms.

Entry for Intoxicated Guests

People in an inebriated state may not be allowed entry.

The management reserves the right to determine whether admission should be permitted in such circumstances.

Late Entry Policy

The organizers hold the right to deny late entry to the event.

Guests are therefore encouraged to arrive before the show begins, particularly since seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Liability and Safety

The sponsors, performers, and organizers are not responsible for any injury or damage occurring due to the event.

Any claims relating to such matters will be settled in the courts in Mumbai, as specified in the event terms.
