Jive Dance Bootcamp with Lourd Vijay – Beginner-Friendly Dance Workshop in Bengaluru
About the Event
Hacks & Cheat Codes to Becoming a Proficient Dancer

Ready to go from “two left feet” to dance-floor ready in just a few hours?

This beginner-friendly Jive Dance Bootcamp is designed for absolute beginners who want to learn the essential foundations of Jive in a focused, energetic, and practical session.

Led by renowned instructor Lourd Vijay at Lourd Vijay's Dance Studio (LVDS) in Bengaluru, the bootcamp introduces participants to the fundamentals of Jive through a compact learning format. The session is described as a 4-hour Jive dance bootcamp spread across a 6-hour event window, with breaks and a lunch break included.

The workshop is designed to help beginners understand the basics of Jive without requiring previous dance experience or a dance partner. Participants can learn essential movements, explore useful shortcuts and “cheat codes,” and practise the fundamentals in an engaging studio environment.

Whether you have always wanted to learn Jive, feel uncomfortable on the dance floor, or simply want to develop a new dance skill, this workshop provides an accessible starting point.

Learn Jive from the Basics

Jive is an energetic dance style that combines rhythm, movement, coordination, and footwork.

For someone completely new to dance, getting started can sometimes feel challenging. This bootcamp is structured specifically around beginners, allowing participants to approach Jive through essential concepts and practical learning.

The workshop focuses on helping participants understand the building blocks of Jive and practise them within the session.

Rather than requiring years of dance training before stepping onto the floor, the bootcamp is intended to provide a concentrated introduction that beginners can work through in a single day.

No Experience Needed

One of the key features of the workshop is that no prior dance experience is required.

The session is intended for absolute beginners, making it suitable for participants who may have little or no background in dance.

You also do not need a partner to join the bootcamp.

This removes two common barriers for people interested in learning partner-based dance styles and allows individual participants to attend and take part in the session.

Whether you are completely new to dance or simply looking for a structured introduction to Jive, you can participate without needing previous training or a dedicated dance partner.

The “Hacks & Cheat Codes” Approach

The bootcamp is built around the idea of learning the essential basics, shortcuts, and “cheat codes” of Jive within a compact session.

Instead of attempting to cover an extensive curriculum, the workshop focuses on practical fundamentals that beginners can work on during the bootcamp.

The idea is to make the learning process approachable and efficient while giving participants a foundation they can continue developing after the event.

This focused approach is particularly suited to people who want to make a quick start and become more comfortable with the basic mechanics of Jive.

A High-Energy Dance Learning Experience

The workshop is designed as a high-energy learning experience.

Participants will spend time actively engaging with the dance rather than simply observing demonstrations. The format gives beginners an opportunity to practise what they learn during the session and gradually become more comfortable with the movements.

The combination of focused instruction, practical learning, breaks, and a lunch break creates a structured event designed to keep the experience active while allowing participants time to recharge.

Four Hours of Jive Training

The core workshop is described as a 4-hour Jive Dance Bootcamp.

The overall event takes place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the six-hour schedule including breaks and a lunch break.

This structure provides participants with concentrated dance instruction while also building in time away from active practice.

The extended event window allows the workshop to maintain an energetic pace without requiring continuous dance activity throughout the entire day.

Lunch Included

A key feature of the experience is that lunch is provided as part of the bootcamp.

Participants can therefore take a lunch break during the event without needing to make separate arrangements for their midday meal.

The lunch provision is included as part of the overall workshop experience, as specified in the event details.

Learn at Lourd Vijay's Dance Studio

The bootcamp takes place at LVDS (Lourd Vijay's Dance Studio) on Cunningham Road, Bengaluru.

Being hosted at Lourd Vijay's own studio provides the setting for a dedicated dance-learning environment where participants can focus on the workshop and practical instruction.

The venue is specifically associated with the instructor and the dance training experience described for this event.

Led by Lourd Vijay

The workshop is led by Lourd Vijay, described in the event information as a renowned instructor.

His role as the lead instructor places the focus of the session on guided learning, practical instruction, and helping participants understand the fundamentals of Jive.

The workshop is structured for beginners, allowing participants to learn the basics in an environment led by an experienced dance instructor.

From Beginner to Dance-Floor Ready

The central idea behind the bootcamp is to help beginners make a confident start with Jive.

Moving from feeling awkward or uncertain about dancing to understanding some basic movements can make the experience of getting onto a dance floor more approachable.

This bootcamp focuses on establishing that foundation in a concentrated workshop format.

Participants can use the session to explore the basic movements, understand the rhythm, practise their skills, and experience what it feels like to engage with Jive in a dedicated dance environment.
