Step into the circle and discover the powerful vocal and physical language of Kecak, one of Bali's most distinctive traditional performance forms.

Led by Padma Shri awardee Dr Wayan Dibia and his team, this immersive workshop introduces participants to the rhythmic chants, breath, movement, coordination, and collective energy that make a Kecak performance come alive.

Unlike a conventional performing arts workshop, Kecak is deeply rooted in group participation. The experience explores how individual voices and bodies work together to create rhythm, atmosphere, movement, and storytelling. Participants will become part of a collective circle where sound and physical expression combine to create a unique performance language.

The workshop is being presented as part of Bali in Bengaluru, offering participants an opportunity to engage directly with an important Balinese performance tradition.

What Is Kecak?

Kecak is a distinctive Balinese performance tradition known for its powerful collective vocal patterns and coordinated physical movements. Rather than relying only on conventional musical instruments, the performance is strongly associated with the human voice, rhythmic chanting, synchronized movement, and group energy.

The circle is an important part of the experience. Participants work together to develop coordination and awareness while contributing their own voice and movement to the larger group.

The result is a performance environment where individual contributions become part of a larger rhythmic and visual composition.

More Than Just a Workshop

Selected participants will get the opportunity to join the artists on stage and perform alongside them during the Kecak show as part of Bali in Bengaluru.

This gives selected workshop participants the chance to take what they have learned during the sessions and experience the energy of a live performance.

No Prior Experience Required

Two-Day Immersive Workshop

The Kecak workshop is designed as a two-day immersive experience, allowing participants to engage with the performance form across two sessions.

Both sessions form part of the immersive workshop experience and focus on developing familiarity with the vocal, physical, rhythmic, and collective elements of Kecak.

Important Terms and Conditions

By accepting, holding, or using a ticket, the ticket holder acknowledges that they have read, understood, accepted, and agreed to the full terms and conditions.

Admission and Security
The organizer reserves the right of admission.
Security personnel may search ticket holders and their belongings at entry.
The venue does not permit prohibited items inside the venue or seating area.
Anyone refusing a security search or found carrying prohibited items may be denied entry without refund or compensation.

Ticket holders are expected to comply with security requirements at the venue.

Drug-Free Event

This is a drug-free event.

The use, possession, procurement, supply, or consumption of drugs, narcotics, or psychotropic substances as defined under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, is prohibited.

Any ticket holder found violating this condition may be immediately removed from the venue without refund or compensation. The organizer also reserves the right to initiate legal action where permitted under applicable law.

Conduct and Behaviour

The organizer may refuse admission to or remove any ticket holder who appears intoxicated, is under the influence of drugs, behaves dangerously or inappropriately, or engages in conduct that may cause harassment, damage, injury, or nuisance.

The organizer's decision regarding admission or removal shall be final.

Ticket Rules

The ticket is issued in accordance with the rules and regulations of the event organizer and venue management.

Except where specifically stated otherwise:

Tickets are non-refundable.
Tickets cannot be exchanged.
Tickets cannot be cancelled after purchase.
Tickets cannot be returned.
The organizer and venue are not responsible for issues arising from unauthorized copies or reproductions of tickets.

If the organizer cancels the performance, the ticket fee will be refunded. Other charges, including parking fees, internet handling fees, and order processing fees, remain non-refundable.

Alcohol Regulations

Persons below the legally permissible age may not purchase or consume alcoholic beverages, in accordance with applicable law.

Personal Responsibility

The organizer does not accept responsibility for injury to persons or for loss or damage to personal property brought to the event.

Attendees are requested to cooperate with the organizer and venue management at all times.

Event Changes

The organizer may modify the terms and conditions at its discretion from time to time.

Any secondary performances, if applicable, and the event lineup are subject to the artist's discretion.
