About the Event

One legendary voice. Two iconic superstars. Countless unforgettable songs.

Rotary International District 3192 presents Diye Jalte Hai – One Voice, Two Super Stars, a special musical concert celebrating the extraordinary musical legacy associated with Kishore Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan.

The event brings together the timeless appeal of Kishore Kumar's iconic voice with the unforgettable screen presence of two of Bollywood's most celebrated superstars, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan.

Over the years, the combination of Kishore Kumar's singing and the performances of these legendary actors has given audiences countless hit songs, memorable films and musical moments that continue to live on across generations.

Diye Jalte Hai is presented as a musical show like never before, inviting audiences to revisit the melodies, emotions and memories associated with this remarkable chapter of Hindi cinema.

But the evening has a purpose beyond music.

This is a fundraiser in support of Rotary's environmental initiative, Dhanyavad – A Gratitude to Mother Earth.

By attending the concert, audiences can enjoy an evening of classic Bollywood music while also contributing to an environmental cause.

Music with memories. A celebration with purpose.

One Voice, Two Super Stars

The concept behind the concert is built around the extraordinary connection between one iconic playback voice and two legendary Bollywood stars.

Kishore Kumar – The Voice

Kishore Kumar remains one of the most recognisable and beloved voices in Hindi film music.

His singing could capture romance, joy, longing, mischief, melancholy and celebration with remarkable versatility.

His songs became deeply connected with the personalities and performances of the stars who appeared on screen.

Rajesh Khanna – The Superstar

Rajesh Khanna's screen persona became closely associated with a generation of romantic and emotionally expressive Hindi cinema.

The songs picturised on him and sung by Kishore Kumar became some of the most memorable musical moments of Bollywood's golden era.

Amitabh Bachchan – The Icon

Amitabh Bachchan brought an entirely different energy to the screen.

His larger-than-life performances, combined with powerful songs sung by Kishore Kumar, created another category of unforgettable Bollywood music.

Together, these three names represent an extraordinary intersection of voice, cinema, performance and popular culture.

A Celebration of Bollywood's Musical Legacy

Hindi film music has always been closely connected to the storytelling of cinema.

Songs do more than accompany a film. They can establish a character, express emotion, advance a story or become memorable enough to live independently from the movie itself.

The music associated with Kishore Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan demonstrates this relationship beautifully.

The songs can take audiences back to a particular film, a particular era or even a particular personal memory.

Diye Jalte Hai celebrates that emotional connection through a live musical performance.

Countless Hit Songs

The concert is inspired by a repertoire of songs that have remained popular with audiences across generations.

Kishore Kumar's voice became synonymous with some of the most memorable songs associated with both Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan.

These melodies span different moods and styles, from romantic songs and emotional ballads to energetic numbers and songs filled with dramatic character.

The evening offers audiences an opportunity to revisit this rich musical legacy in a live concert setting.

A Journey Through Musical Memories

One of the most special qualities of classic Bollywood music is its ability to trigger memories.

A melody can bring back the atmosphere of an old film.

A familiar voice can remind you of a particular character.

A song can transport you to a different era of Hindi cinema.

Diye Jalte Hai is designed around this emotional journey.

Rather than simply presenting songs as isolated performances, the concert celebrates the memories and cultural associations connected with this music.

Kishore Kumar's Enduring Musical Appeal

Kishore Kumar's voice continues to be recognised for its distinctive character and versatility.

His ability to move between different moods made him one of the most influential voices in Hindi film music.

Whether the song was romantic, playful, emotional or energetic, his performance could give it a powerful identity.

This concert places that legendary voice at the centre of its musical theme, while celebrating the two superstars with whom many of those songs became iconic.

Rajesh Khanna and the Era of Romantic Bollywood

Rajesh Khanna occupies a unique place in the history of Hindi cinema.

His on-screen image became closely associated with romance, charisma and emotionally resonant performances.

Songs featuring his characters became a major part of his screen identity, and Kishore Kumar's voice played a significant role in creating that musical image.

For audiences who grew up with classic Hindi films, revisiting these songs can be a deeply nostalgic experience.

Amitabh Bachchan and the Sound of a Generation

Amitabh Bachchan transformed the image of the Hindi film hero with his commanding screen presence and dramatic performances.

The music associated with his films reflects the energy and emotional range of that era.

Kishore Kumar's powerful vocals added another dimension to many of these memorable moments.

The concert celebrates this musical partnership as part of its tribute to Bollywood's iconic personalities.

From Romance to Energy

The musical world represented by these legends is not limited to one emotional mood.

Audiences can expect a broader journey through the many shades of Hindi film music.

Romance

Melodies that capture love, longing and emotional connection.

Nostalgia

Songs that take audiences back to beloved films and unforgettable moments.

Drama

Music that reflects the larger-than-life storytelling of classic Bollywood.

Energy

Upbeat and lively songs that continue to inspire audiences to sing along.

This range helps make the concert an experience for listeners with different musical preferences.

A Live Musical Show Like Never Before

The event is presented as a musical show like never before, bringing classic Bollywood memories into a live performance environment.

Live music creates a different kind of connection with familiar songs.

The audience is not simply listening to a recording.

They are experiencing performers, musicians and fellow audience members sharing the same musical moment.

This collective atmosphere can make familiar songs feel fresh again.

A Concert for Multiple Generations

Classic Bollywood music often has the ability to connect different generations.

Parents may have grown up listening to these songs.

Children may have discovered them through family playlists, television, radio or later cultural references.

Grandchildren may know the melodies even if they did not experience the original films when they were released.

Diye Jalte Hai provides an opportunity for families and friends to enjoy this shared musical heritage together.

Music With a Purpose

The concert is not only a tribute.

It is also a fundraiser for the environment.

Rotary International District 3192 is presenting the event in support of its environmental initiative, Dhanyavad – A Gratitude to Mother Earth.

This adds a meaningful dimension to the evening.

Audiences can come together to celebrate music while supporting a cause focused on appreciation and responsibility towards the planet.

Dhanyavad – A Gratitude to Mother Earth

The fundraiser supports Rotary's environmental initiative called Dhanyavad – A Gratitude to Mother Earth.

The title reflects a simple but powerful idea: recognising the value of the natural world and expressing gratitude towards the environment that sustains us.

Through the concert, music becomes a means of bringing people together around that larger purpose.

The event therefore combines entertainment, nostalgia, community participation and environmental support.

A Fundraiser That Brings People Together

Fundraising events are often at their strongest when they create experiences people genuinely want to be part of.

Diye Jalte Hai uses music as that shared experience.

Audiences can enjoy classic Bollywood melodies while contributing to the environmental initiative supported by Rotary International District 3192.

It is an evening where celebration and purpose exist side by side.

A Tribute to Timeless Bollywood Personalities

The concert celebrates three names that have had an enormous influence on Hindi popular culture:

Kishore Kumar

Rajesh Khanna

Amitabh Bachchan

Each contributed something different.

Kishore Kumar gave audiences a voice that became part of countless memories.

Rajesh Khanna helped define a major era of Hindi cinema and romantic stardom.

Amitabh Bachchan became one of the most influential screen personalities in Indian cinema.

Their connection through music created a legacy that remains relevant decades later.

Songs That Continue to Live On

Some songs disappear with time.

Others continue to be rediscovered by new audiences.

The music associated with Kishore Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan belongs firmly to the latter category.

The melodies remain recognisable.

The lyrics remain memorable.

The performances remain culturally significant.

And the songs continue to be sung, replayed and celebrated.

This concert is an opportunity to hear that musical legacy honoured once again in a live setting.

An Evening of Nostalgia

Nostalgia is more than remembering the past.

It is the emotional experience of returning to something that still matters.

Classic Bollywood songs can create that feeling instantly.

A familiar opening note can bring back a film scene.

A particular lyric can remind someone of childhood.

A melody can become associated with family memories, celebrations or a particular chapter of life.

Diye Jalte Hai creates space for those memories through music.

A Celebration for Bollywood Music Lovers

This concert is designed for audiences who appreciate classic Hindi film music, legendary playback singing and the golden era of Bollywood.

It can be especially appealing to those who enjoy the musical legacy of Kishore Kumar and the cinematic worlds of Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan.

The relationship between Bollywood actors and playback singers has shaped the way generations remember Hindi cinema.

Audiences often associate a particular voice with a particular actor.

Kishore Kumar's voice became strongly connected with both Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan in the public imagination.

That connection is one of the defining themes of this concert.

The event celebrates not just individual songs but the cultural relationship between voice and star, music and cinema, performance and memory.

One Voice, Two Super Stars

The title One Voice, Two Super Stars captures this central idea.

One legendary singing voice.

Two larger-than-life stars.

And a musical catalogue filled with songs that audiences continue to remember.

The concert brings these musical associations together for a celebratory evening of Hindi film music.

A Meaningful Evening Beyond Entertainment

A fundraiser can create a different atmosphere from an ordinary concert.

The audience knows that their participation is contributing to something beyond the evening itself.

With Dhanyavad – A Gratitude to Mother Earth, the music becomes part of a broader environmental initiative.

The event therefore offers two kinds of value:

Memorable music for the audience.

Meaningful support for an environmental cause.
