About the Diya Painting Workshop

Diwali is celebrated with lights, colourful decorations, and creative expressions that make homes and gathering spaces feel festive. Diyas are an important part of these celebrations, symbolising light and adding a traditional touch to festive arrangements.
The Diya Painting Workshop offers participants an opportunity to personalise this traditional decoration through a guided art activity. Instead of using a plain diya, attendees can transform it with colours, patterns, and designs that reflect their own artistic preferences.
The workshop is designed to make creativity accessible to beginners. Participants do not need advanced painting skills or previous craft experience. With the required materials provided and step-by-step guidance available, they can focus on experimenting with designs and enjoying the process.
The activity also provides a chance for children and adults to explore artistic expression in a relaxed setting. Each participant can create a unique decorative piece and take the finished diya home for use as part of their festive decorations.

What to Expect at the Diya Painting Workshop

Paint and Decorate Your Own Diya

The main highlight of the workshop is the opportunity to paint and decorate a diya from scratch. Participants can use the supplied paints and decorating materials to give their diya a personal touch.
From colourful combinations to simple decorative patterns, the activity encourages participants to experiment with their own ideas. The aim is to create a festive decoration that reflects individual creativity rather than follow a single fixed design.

Explore Festive Colours and Patterns

Festive decorations often feature bright colours, traditional motifs, and intricate patterns. During the workshop, participants can explore different ways to decorate their diyas and make them visually appealing.
Beginners can start with simple designs and gradually add details according to their comfort level. Children can enjoy experimenting with colours, while older participants can focus on patterns and combinations that suit their personal style.
The exact range of colours, decorative materials, and design templates has not been specified. However, the event information confirms that the materials required for the activity will be provided.

Enjoy a Relaxing Creative Activity

Painting can offer an enjoyable break from busy routines by encouraging people to concentrate on a hands-on task. The workshop creates an opportunity to slow down, explore artistic ideas, and enjoy the process of making something by hand.
Rather than focusing on artistic perfection, participants can approach the activity as a chance to experiment and learn. The guided format is suitable for people who may be trying diya painting for the first time.

Take Your Handmade Diya Home

At the end of the session, participants can take their completed diya home. The finished piece can become part of a festive decoration, a personal keepsake, or a handmade addition to a Diwali display.
Creating a decoration yourself can also make it feel more meaningful than purchasing a ready-made item. Each participant can enjoy having a diya that reflects their own colour choices and design ideas.

What Is Included in the Workshop?

The workshop includes the essential materials required for diya painting and decoration. Each participant will be provided with a diya, paints, brushes, and decorating supplies.

The completed diya can be taken home after the workshop. The listing does not specify whether additional diyas can be purchased or whether extra materials will be available, so participants should check with the organiser if they require further details.
