About the Children’s Speech Contest

Butterfly Talent Academy (BTA), in association with Talking Titans Gavel Club, presents an exciting Children’s Speech Contest designed to encourage young speakers to step onto the stage, express their ideas, and build confidence through public speaking.

The contest provides children and teenagers with a supportive platform to prepare and present a speech on a subject of their choice, based on their respective age categories.

With opportunities to speak before an audience, observe fellow participants, and learn from different speaking styles, the event aims to make public speaking an engaging and enriching experience for young minds.

Speech Contest for Young Speakers

Public speaking is an important skill that can help children communicate their thoughts clearly, confidently, and effectively.

The Children’s Speech Contest encourages participants to express themselves through structured speeches while developing stage confidence and presentation skills.

Each contestant will present a speech within the prescribed time limit according to their age category.

Participants can choose a topic that interests them and present it using one of the suggested speech formats.

Age Categories & Timings

The contest is divided into two age categories to ensure participants compete alongside speakers of a similar age.

Category 1 – 10 to 13 Years
Age: 10 to 13 years
Time: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Speech Duration: 3 to 4 minutes per participant

Children in this category will have the opportunity to present their ideas in a short and engaging speech while developing confidence in speaking before an audience.

Category 2 – 14 to 16 Years
Age: 14 to 16 years
Time: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Speech Duration: 4 to 5 minutes per participant

Teenagers in this category can explore their chosen topics in greater depth while demonstrating their communication, presentation, and public speaking abilities.

Speech Topics and Formats

Participants have the freedom to select a subject that interests them while following one of the suggested speech formats.

Self-Introductory Speech

Participants can introduce themselves, sharing information about their interests, experiences, aspirations, achievements, or personal journey.

Narrative Speech

A narrative speech allows participants to tell a story or describe an experience in an engaging and structured manner.

Children can use storytelling techniques to capture the audience's attention and communicate a meaningful message.

Expository Speech

An expository speech focuses on explaining a topic, idea, concept, or subject clearly to the audience.

Participants can use facts, examples, and logical explanations to help listeners understand their chosen topic.
