What Is This Garba Workshop About?
This workshop is centred around learning Garba through guided choreography and active practice.
Rather than simply watching a demonstration, participants get the opportunity to work through the movements themselves.
The session begins with accessible steps and gradually introduces sequences that help participants become more comfortable with the rhythm and movement.
The focus remains on learning, practice and enjoying the dance rather than on perfection.
Learn Garba Step by Step
For beginners, learning a new dance form can feel challenging when several movements are introduced at once.
This workshop takes a more structured approach.
Participants are guided through the choreography step by step, giving them time to understand individual movements before combining them into longer sequences.
This makes it easier to follow the rhythm and practise the footwork as the session progresses.
Explore Traditional Garba Movements
The workshop introduces participants to traditional-inspired Garba movements, allowing them to become familiar with the characteristic rhythm and footwork associated with the dance.
Understanding the basic movement patterns can help participants feel more comfortable when joining Garba celebrations during the festive season.
The session provides a dedicated space to learn and practise before taking those moves to the dance floor.
Fresh Garba Choreography
Along with foundational movements, participants can explore fresh and energetic choreography created for the workshop.
The sequences are designed to add variety to your Garba practice while helping you work on coordination, movement and rhythm.
Learning new combinations can also make your festive-season dancing more enjoyable by giving you additional steps to work with.
High-Tempo Garba Combinations
As the workshop progresses, participants can work on high-tempo combinations and more energetic movement patterns.
These sequences allow you to practise moving with the beat while coordinating your footwork and body movements.
The higher-energy sections add an active and dynamic element to the workshop.
Choreography by Jayesh Rathod
The workshop is led by Jayesh Rathod, who will take participants through the planned choreography.
His guidance forms an important part of the experience, allowing participants to follow the sequences and practise the movements during the session.
The choreography is designed to give participants an opportunity to learn and experience Garba in a structured workshop environment.
